Step 5: Installing WordPress

Before You Begin

You need your VeeroTech login and a domain already pointed to your hosting account. The whole install takes about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Log In to VeeroTech

Go to VeeroTech and log in to your hosting account with the username and password from your welcome email.

Step 2: Log In to cPanel

From your account dashboard, click Login to cPanel. cPanel opens in a new tab.

Step 3: Find WordPress

From cPanel, scroll down to Softaculous Apps Installer and click the WordPress icon.

Step 4: Open the Installation Form

Click Install.

Step 5: Enter Your Website Information

Fill in the form from top to bottom:

  • Choose Protocol: select https://
  • Choose Domain: select your domain.
  • In Directory: delete the wp that is filled in and leave the box empty. If you skip this, your site ends up at yourdomain.com/wp instead of yourdomain.com.
  • Version: leave the default.
  • Site Name and Site Description: enter your own. You can change both later.
  • Admin Username, Password and Email: enter your own. Use a real email address you check.

Quick Tip: Don’t use admin as your username. It’s the first name hackers try. Pick something only you would know.

Step 6: Skip Optional Plugins

Leave the plugin boxes unchecked. You’ll install plugins later from the WordPress dashboard.

Step 7: Enter Your Email and Install

Leave Advanced Options at their defaults. At the bottom, enter your email in Email installation details to and click Install. Don’t close the tab until the progress bar finishes.

Step 8: Save Your Login Information

When the install finishes, you’ll see two links: your website and your administrative URL (yourdomain.com/wp-admin). Bookmark the administrative URL. That’s where you log in from now on.

Save the confirmation email. It has your login link and installation details.

Quick Tip: Store your admin username and password in a password manager, not a sticky note or an unprotected file. If you lose them, getting back in is a hassle.

You’re Done Installing WordPress!

How to Get Back to WordPress

go to: https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

Bookmark your WordPress dashboard address:

You don’t need to go through cPanel or Softaculous every time you want to work on your website. Just use your bookmarked address and log in.

Something Not Working?

  • Your domain isn’t in the dropdown: it hasn’t been added to your hosting account yet. Contact VeeroTech support.
  • https:// shows a security warning: your SSL certificate may still be setting up on a new domain. Wait a few hours and check again.
  • Softaculous says files already exist: a placeholder page is sitting in your site folder. Check the box to overwrite it, or ask support to remove it.
  • You still see a “coming soon” page: clear your browser cache or try a private window.
  • Forgot your password: click Lost your password? on the login page.
